(Virtual) TALLADEGA, Ala. — Alex Bowman won the Geico 70 at the virtual Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, moving him up from ninth to fifth in our hypothetical standings of the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series.

Corey Lajoie made his virtual debut and finished second in the race by 0.037 seconds.

Ryan Preece rebounded this week to finish third. Last week, he won the pole at virtual Richmond Raceway but tangled with Matt DiBenedetto during the race. He finished 19th at the Virginia short track and fell to fourth in the standings. This week, he passed Garrett Smithley for third in the hypothetical championship.

Rounding out the top-five of the 70-lap race are Smithley and Landon Cassill, who ran the virtual 24 Hours of Nurburgring together this weekend. They were members of the team that finished sixth in that event.

Series leader Timmy Hill finished a personal low of 11th. William Byron, the current runner-up in the hypothetical standings, finished sixth in the race.
